Default Does windows remote desktop use secure connection?

Hi,
I heard the remote desktop of windows xp doesn't use secure connection.
Although the data is encrypted, the hackers can decrypt it easily. Is it true?
What can I do to improve the security?
Thanks.

You can research and expand your knowledge.

Maybe use VPN or SSH if you want more security.

The encryption by itself is strong but some types of RDP connections could
possibly be subject to MIM attack I believe though personaly I believe that
is a very very slight possibility particualry for non high value targets. If
the target server is running Windows 2003/2008 server you can use TLS via a
certificate [that can be self signed] to secure the RDP connection from MIM.
VPN endpoints will also improve security.
