A speed problem on XP2 to XP2 network
Hey all-
I recently upgraded my previously functional xpsp2-win98 network. (Print, file share all worked great, and fast!) Now I have an XPsp2-XPsp2 network. I have configured my xp to xp net as per MS directions and have a terrible lag and or loss of network speed (the connection icon on tool bar shows a data rate of ~ one byte every few seconds????). I have turned off firewall and no difference. Also, I can find the network printer (from machine 2), but it won't print from machine 2; machine 1 is instantaneous and reliable when test printing. The firewall (on machine 1, which is connected directly to printer) says it is configured for file/print sharing on my network, but..... No printing from machine 2! SO: how to fix speed ocross network? How to configure/install printer to machine2 for printing? Thanks for any 'real' help...... |
