Default How do I test Windows 10 for CredentialGuard or DeviceGuard or BitDefender

How do I test Windows 10 for CredentialGuard or DeviceGuard or BitDefender?

My first installation of Oracle VirtualBox is a disaster from the start in
that Windows 10 Home Pro won't let the Oracle VirtualBox use any 64-bit
guest operating system (such as the 64-bit Ubuntu ISO).

I ran every step that I could in this FAQ.
https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62339

But the steps that they don't tell me how to do are these.
1. Turn off EFI BIOS,
2. Turn off DeviceGuard,
3. Turn off CredentialGuard,
4. Turn off BitDefender,
5. Turn off your AV.

Can you provide Windows 10 advices to help me figure out if I even have any
of those things and how to turn them off?

What Windows 10 command tells us the BIOS version?

I pressed F10 to get into the BIOS but it doesn't say the version.

I ran the AMD Virtualization Technology and
Microsoft Hyper-V System Compatibility Check Utility test.
http://support.amd.com/en-us/search/...virtualization

As shown in this screenshot just now it says the BIOS is bad.

For an HP desktop, how do we get Windows to tell us the BIOS version?

I don't know the Windows command but I use Belarc Advisor instead, If
you download and run this program it will give you not only the Bios
version but tons of other useful and valuable information as well
Hope this helps.

I should have mentioned another program which will give you that and all
sorts of info also. It is called Speccy by the company Piriform.

I'll second that recommendation. Speccy is very good.

Belarc is good. Thanks.'

Now that I have the BIOS version, I found out that HP has no new BIOS
downloads available for my machine, so, it doesn't matter what the BIOS
version is as there is only one version possible.

Thank you both for the advice of Speccy.

v1.30.730 (16 Nov 2016)
https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download

Here are my notes:
Disconnect the net before installing.
Do not just hit the first "install" button!
Tries to install Google Chrome (must uncheck on the first screen).
Also you must hit "Customize" link on the first screen installing.
That gives you the option to uncheck the "automatically check for updates".
Again, do not hit the "install" button!
Then you must hit the "more" button.
That gives you the option to put it where you want it.
It also gives the option to install just for you or for everyone.
Then hit install.
Good news: It installs, literally, in seconds.
But it takes a few minutes to first run, which hangs everything on Windows
while it does, and causes the screen to lock up and within a few minutes, I
got a Windows BSOD.

Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart...
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (ahcix64s.sys)

Nonetheless it reports good stuff.
And it can save that information to a text file.

Speccy is a comprehensive, lightweight, advanced system information tool
for your PC. It provides you with detailed statistics on every piece of
hardware in your computer; including CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Graphics Cards,
Hard Disks, Optical Drives, and Audio support. In addition, Speccy also
adds the temperatures of your different components, so you can easily see
if there's a problem!

Just knowing the SKU of OS you installed, is enough.

different protections against different types of threats.

It’s worth noting here that these are enterprise features,
and as such are included only in the Windows Enterprise client.

Ugh! Thanks! That's GREAT information.

Had I known *that*, I wouldn't have bothered to even check for those two
darn things!

I tried to get the authors to *fix* their stupid FAQ, but they have
resisted so far, saying that "everyone knows this" which isn't even close
to my experience.

Sigh.

Thank you for the advice to install Speccy, which I had never heard of.

One thing it found was that "Bitdefender" was "disabled".

Is that normal to have BitDefender disabled on Windows 10?
Should I enable BitDefender if I already have Avast running & up to date?

What do most of you do with respect to Bit Defender & Avast?

No. You should never have more than one Antivirus program running.
Choose one or choose the other. They can interfere with each other.

I run neither.
