Default Multiple BSODs

Hey evryone
My computer is about 2 years old now, I dont know why but it has
suddenly started getting blue screen errors randomly but mostly when im
playing games. I thought it might have been faulty RAM but i ran
memtest83+ and it came out with no problem, I wiped the C drive where
Windows XP home edition is installed, reinstalled it but it hasnt
changed anything. I also removed Norton AV after i got a few BSODs
involving the Navex15.sys file. I now have Avast! installed but my
computer still restarts with a variety of BSODs, I have no idea what is
going on. I hope someone can help me, i copied the six dump files down
there. Thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to give me.

Are the Stop Errors occuring during or after the boot process?

What are your anti-spyware arrangements?

You may want to run Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
1.37 -freeware (if you upgrade you pay).
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes...-10804572.html

Run Malwarebytes' and turn off your current anti-virus
before you do to avoid a conflict. Disregard the invitation on the web
site regarding the Registry Optimiser -a Registry Optimiser is not a
helpful utility.

Hope this helps.

Am I thinking you have two Anti-viurs applications installed and running at
the same time?

Try to send your Hijackthis to one of many forums for analysis and to help
you out to clean your machine.

It said something about the ntfs.sys file, so idk if its the harddrive
or windows.

I have only have avast home edition installed as my security program

The stop erros ussually occur when I've already started up windows.
One stop error also seems to trigger another because when I get one
another two ussually follow right after when windows has rebooted, and
then its fine agian for some time.

Create a new System Restore point and then run Disk CleanUp.

Select Start, All Programs, accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp,
More Options, System Restore and remove all but the latest System
Restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

What was the answer regarding your anti-spyware arrangements?

Hi Gerry,
Yes, I did! This why I'm asking if I'm correct to assume he/she have two Avs
from the OP post:
Q
"Avast detected it"
"It's really weird Norton didnt pick up on it though. "
/Q
Does that mean two Avs running or one and the other a scan online??
You or me can't make a definite answer, only the OP can!

Have you backed upp important data files? This should be your first
task.

An easy thing to check.

I would be interested in seeing a Disk Defragmenter report . Open Disk
Defragmenter and click on Analyse. Select View Report and click on Save
As and Save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents Folder and post a
copy. Do this before running Disk Defragmenter as it is more
informative.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to
Empty your Recycle Bin and Remove Temporary Internet Files.

Select Start, Run type "cmd" without quotes and click on OK. Type
"chkdsk /f /r without quotes and depress the ENTER key. Answer Y to the
question and depress the ENTER key. Type "exit" without quotes and
depress the ENTER key to return to Windows. Restart the computer and
allow chkdsk to run to completion.

Please let me know how you get on. We may to proceed further as there
are further measures listed in the next two links.

Background information on Stop Error message
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793935.aspx

0x00000024: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
A problem occurred within NTFS.SYS, the driver file that allows the
system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. There may be a
physical problem with the disk, or an Interrupt Request Packet (IRP) may
be corrupted. Other common causes include heavy hard drive
fragmentation, heavy file I/O, problems with some types of
drive-mirroring software, or some antivirus software. I suggest running
ChkDsk or ScanDisk as a first step; then disable all file system filters
such as virus scanners, firewall software, or backup utilities. Check
the file properties of NTFS.SYS to ensure it matches the current OS or
SP version. Update all disk, tape backup, CD-ROM, or removable device
drivers to the most current versions.

Original post "I also removed Norton AV after i got a few BSODs
involving the Navex15.sys file. I now have Avast! installed but my

going on."

What is one of these "nostrises".? I can interpret most of your mistypes
but this one has me baffled!

Is the trojan still in the Avast virus vault? Wnat is the name of the
trojan. If it has gone from the vault the name could still be recorded
in the Avast History log.

Default Multiple BSODs

Okay, well, I do appreciate evryone giving advice, but you do have to
also read the thread.

as I said b4 this is the situation:

1. I previously had Norton AV and Windows installed, then i uninstalled
them both when i thought it would fix the BSODs.

2. I reinstalled Windows, and put Avast on INSTEAD of Norton. I ran
disk checks with the two boxes checked to fix error ect.

3. I then disabled ALL functions of Avast and ran a scan with the
antimalware program, which detected a trojan which is now gone.

Attached is the *Hijack report.*
