Default conflicts with sp2 and antivirus software

having trouble getting ez armor antivirus installed on my laptop. It had
norton antivirus2004 trail on it. I uninstalled this and then installed
ezarmor. after restart the computer freezes and has a blue screen error
computer has been halted to avoid damage and restarts.I even formated the
hard drive and re-installed the xp home and it still does the same thing even
without norton antivirus istalled. no one has ever heard of this problem
before HELP. i'm running a hp pavilion 5404 model 256ram 2800 amd chip 60g hd
and it's 45 days old.

You formatted and reinstalled?
The system is 45 days old?

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately
responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. Know what you are
getting into before you jump in with both feet.

Is it EZ Antivirus, or EZ Armor, that you are actually trying to install?
If the later, I had the same problem, and eventually solved it by shutting
off the Windows firewall before installing the program. The problem arises
because of a conflict between the Windows Firewall that comes with SP2 and
the Zone Alarm firewall that is part of EZ Armor. [Note: eventually, I
uninstalled the firewall part of the program for other reasons and turned the
Windows Firewall back on.]
