Default File Transfer Wizard used by house guest

I had a house guest for a week and I noticed that the File Transfer Wizard,
and the C-prompt had been used on my computer. He asked to use my computer to
print a form. Does he now have all my files, my personal, business,
everything, passwords from using the internet etc???? I appreciate any advice

How could we possibly tell from here? Certainly it isn't necessary to use
the File Transfer Wizard or the command prompt to print a forum. In any
case, whenever you allow someone to have physical control of your computer
you basically have given over ownership of it to them. So if you're unhappy
at the thought that this person might have your stuff, you're going to have
to confront them.

Only you can decide if the situation warrants doing a clean install of
Windows and changing all your passwords, etc. Of course that won't remove
any files he allegedly has in his possession.

How did you notice that the File Transfer Wizard and the C-prompt had been
used?
If you are pretty sure that this happened, you should contact the police. If
your identity is stolen or accounts compromised, this "guest" will be the
prime suspect. Better to report it now than wait for a problem to crop up
later.

I would change all passwords. If you download your e-mail, the guest got
that too. He can setup a user account on his computer and use everything.

If he says he destroyed it or did it by accident, don't believe it for a
minute unless he has been water-boarded ;-). There is no reason at all for
hime to do this.

It could have been worse though. You are a woman and had a man in your house
for a week. The kind of man who would do somehting like this. Now, you must
be wondering what else he did.

In circumstances like this it's worth having a look at the browser history
and cache, the temp folder (Local Settings\Temp, for which you need to show
hidden files) and the recent-documents list. You could also do a scan for
deleted files. These will often give you a fair picture of what's been
going-on over the last few days.
