Default Memory Stick vs Mapped Drive

Hi all

WinXP in domain environment with mapped network drive letter G:
When I push in a memory stick, the system tries to assign the letter g: to
it, but as this is already mapped to a network folder, the memory stick is
ignored. The only way I can see the stick is if I un-map the network drive
first and re-map it later.
For program reasons, I cannot change the letter assigned to the network
folder.
Can I specify the letter assigned to the memory stick when it is installed
instead?

If you have SP3 installed you should be able to assign a different
letter to the USB stick, use the Disk Management tool and see if you can
apply another drive letter to the stick. If you can't reassign the
drive letter with the Disk Management tool try this:
