adding more memory
i have just added another 256 of memory to my comp
my bios reconises that i now have 512 instead of 256 but xp still only reconises 256 both sticks are ddr2100 same manufacturer but 1 is single sided the other double sided please help if possible sys: athlonxp1800 ak32a 40gig |

Press WinKey-Break,(or start/run 'sysdm.cpl'), see memory size

Open Control Panel - System - General and see what is reported for the total RAM near the bottom of the Window. If that figure shows the full 512 mb then there is no problem. If that also shows only 256 mb then use Start - Run - MSCONFIG. Go to the BOOT.INI tab and then click on the Advanced Options button. Make certain that the /MAXMEM= check box is cleared and that there is no entry in the quantity box on that line. Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C.
