Still another Printer Setup Issue
Thanks.
I did what was outlined in Bruce's website, and still nothing worked. Throwing money at the problem, I got a new Epson C64 hoping this would work, but I still have the same problem ( I even followed their directions ). Things have now failed with the Lexmark Optra, Epson C64 & HP 820. "Victor D." wrote in message ... It helps alot of time when you tell what kind of printer you have when explaining a printer problem. Now that you've mentioned you have a Lexmark. The Lexmark printer installation process sometimes installs a service that makes the print spooler service dependent on itself. If there is a problem with Lexmark service or a Lexmark printer driver (or you removed it using the steps above), the print spooler service may not start (see also http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324757). The print spooler service dependencies are stored in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Service s\Spooler\DependOnService The sc config command at step 15 resets the value of that entry. 14.. Detach the printer from the computer ( parallel port LPT1 ) Installed the printer. Re-Attached the printer. At this point, the printers exist in Printers & Faxes. I can select the printer, and go to properties and print a test page fails. For some of the printers I have tried, I can run utilities on the printer ( align cartridges, etc ) but still cannot print. One is USB, the others are parallel.
For each of these printers ( with the exception of the Lexmark), I can perform various functions ( Align print cartridges, scan, etc ) on the printers ( the Lexmark simply doesn't have any non-print functions). Hence, I trust that all hardware is functioning properly. Thanks however "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote in message ... These I presume are all USB printers. Are you sure your USB ports are working correctly? Still another Printer Setup Issue
Thanks.
I did what was outlined in Bruce's website, and still nothing worked. Throwing money at the problem, I got a new Epson C64 hoping this would work, but I still have the same problem ( I even followed their directions ). Things have now failed with the Lexmark Optra, Epson C64 & HP 820. "Victor D." wrote in message ... Still another Printer Setup Issue
These I presume are all USB printers. Are you sure your USB ports are
working correctly? Do you connect other USB devices to your USB ports? Are they on the motherboard or on a hub? And if on a hub, powered or unpowered? Since printers are not supplied with a USB cable, are you sure your USB cable is good? Cari www.coribright.com "Phillip N Rounds" wrote in message ... Thanks. Still another Printer Setup Issue
