LOL! Top- vs bottom- posting It's an ongoing debate with good arguments for
both sides. Personally, I'm agnostic on the topic (was just giving Wes a
tease). Anyhow as Wes has already said... the sig delimiter combined with
your newsreader respecting the construct of delimiter is the explanation
for what was going on.

Hi Sharon,

On every post?

Hi Wes~
On every post if you want to use OE and have the text below your
signature to be included in quoted replies. Since you'll get complaints
either way, may as well leave it as it is.

With some newsreaders, the delimiter is manually added by the user to the
sig block. You only have to type it once and the whole shebang gets added
automatically along with the rest of the sig.

Of course if you bottom posted, none of this would be a problem but we
won't go there. ;^)

Hi Sharon,

You'd be surprised about how many bottom posts that I do not even bother to
scroll down and read. Or maybe you wouldn't. ;-)

Nah, I wouldn't be surprised. I don't like scrolling too far either. I use
a newsreader that has an excellent featu a toggle to suppress or show
quoted material. Hiding quotes makes reading a thread easier - regardless
of top/bottom replies. If I want/need to see the quoted material, a quick
click takes care of it. Wish someone would make an add-on for OE that would
do the same.
