Default Passwords not working on PC

Hi,

i have XP SP2 installed on a laptop at home,
it was a version i downloaded (XP BLack) however i wanted to set a password on the pc so that only i have access to it,

so i went to user account in the CP and set a password on the admin a/c,
i also ensure that the guest a/c was turned off,

then i restarted,

however it did not prompt me for pw at loadup,
instead everytime its booted it logs straight into the admin ac without any pw's being entered,

if i logout or click switch user i do get promted for a pw upon entering,
however this isnt really helpfull if all people have to do is click restart to get onto the pc,

i've had a look around but cant see a solution to this if anyone has any ideas it would be great,

thanks a million,

sisco.

XP Black is a pirated edition of Windows not supported here.

So, why would you expect help for pirated Microsoft software in a Microsoft
owned newsgroup? Probably ignorance.

And then...

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...displaylang=en

And know that if someone has physical access and time - unless you encrypted
the data - it's all theirs anyway. A password is only useful if it follows
good physical security. A boot CD and a few minutes alone with the machine
will give them full access - as would just booting from another type of CD
and as would just making an image of the hard drive...

PROOF that SOME "MVP's" don't read what they reply to and that they
merely look for a couple keywords..

What part of "XP Black" do you need assistance with, Shenan!?

I understood it and pointed out in a way of my choosing.

Your ignorance is not my problem.

Hey Shenan,

Thanks for the reply,

i had'nt realised this forum was linked to microsoft,

next time sonny/eddie it may be an idea to explain this fact to new users instead of jumping down their throats and starting abuse,

if this had been done i would have gladly taken my Q elsewhere,
