Crashes occur on my computer periodically.
Crashes occur on my computer periodically. At first they happened every day
with the Error in System Events with EventID=1 ("The System Restore filter encountered the unexpected error '0xC000009A' ..." and Source SR.exe. I turned off the System Restore. Crashes began to happen less frequently, about once every 2 days of different types: - EventID 2505 "The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NetbiosSmb because another computer on the network has the same name. The server could not start". - EventID 2020 "The server was unable to allocate from the system paged pool because the pool was empty." - EventID 2505 "The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{6BFC8301-E69E-49FF-8F0A-C616FCE6756D} because another computer on the network has the same name. The server could not start." (There is no another computer with the same name in the network.) - Event ID 7000 "The LogMeIn Kernel Information Provider service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified." The computer is switched on around the clock and connected to my home network with 3 other computers. In most cases, crash occurred when the computer was not in use. In what may be reason for? How to eliminate the crash? Thank you Lev |

Well, that's a big improvement over recent SCREAMS that everybody should USE LINUX in preference to anything else. But seriously, wouldn't it be a better way of using the limited number of seconds of life that each of us has, to advocate a particular operating system in a forum where people discuss which operating system to use? Screaming into a vacuum is a hell of a way to waste a human intelligence. |

How to eliminate the crash? Thank you Lev For one thing, it looks like you have two computers on the network with the same name. Although it shouldn't cause a crash, it will cause problems with networking. To fix this, right click on "My Computer" then: Properties - Computer Name (tab) - Change and then enter a _unique_ computer name. Stick to simple letters and numbers and avoid special characters.
