Default phone calls while on line

i have a little pop up box that appears on my left hand
corner of my screen when somebody tries to phone me and
says incoming call with a picture of a phone . what im
wanting to know is why have i got this and not my friend
he wants it on his but doesnt know where to look im on a
dial-up-connection running xp home. any help would be
good thanks.

Greetings Gordon,

This is either a value-added feature of your modem (like this one
http://www.usr-emea.com/support/s-v92-icn.asp?loc=emea) or another service like CallWave
(http://www.callwave.com). Your friend will either need either of these in order to have
this same functionality.
