Default HDTV tuner cards

Hi hopefully someone can help me out. I am looking at building a new PC and
I am trying to get more info on TV tuner cards. I don't understand exactly
how they work. I currently have direct tv with an HD DVR so if I and a HDTV
tuner card to the PC can I use it to replace my DVR if the card is also a
PVR? In other words do I just hook in the cables that currently go to my DVR
and I can record, pause and rewind live TV? Can I burn the video to disk?
Thanks for the info

I am sure that you can find a Card that can do all those things but it
depends on what you want to Pay. Check here

The TV cards are limited to what they can do,first, youre recieving
video,being
able to send out cmds is diffrent as the cards have "video-in".ATI makes a
fairly good one starts at 60.00,you'd probably have to spend a whole lot more
for better. Also, youre best bet, install the cards drivers only (no
software),for
great software (doing the same),download & install Windows media encoder,
get the utilities also...
