Default Communication Not Available - Dell V305 All In One Printer

Lem,

Good news. The printer works now. When I checke FilesServer Properties &
clicke the driver tab, the V305 driver is listed. However, there were two
other drivers there previous. One I think said fax & the other I can't
remember. I used the cd to install the printer. What about those two other
drivers?

If things are working OK, leave that list of drivers alone.

Files Server Properties Drivers lists *all* the drivers that are
currently installed. You shouldn't normally see an entry for "fax"
there, but extra drivers shouldn't hurt anything.

What I meant is that when I uninstalled the printer & went to Server
Properties & clicked Drivers, I deleted the 3 printer drivers there. When I
reinstalled the printer, & checked Server Properties, under Drivers only one
was listed: Dell V305. Could there be a problem here since there is the
one driver listed only?

You'll know if there's a problem ... some printer won't print. If you
don't have any printers installed now other than the V305, don't worry
about it.

If you do have another printer(s), you'll have to reinstall the
driver(s) in order for them to print.

Lem,

Thank you very much for all of your help. I'm irritated at the Dell tech
who kept saying it was a software problem & had to pay $79. I suggested we
uninstall the printer but he said no that wouldn't help. Ahain thank you.

Default Communication Not Available - Dell V305 All In One Printer

I have a question when you got your printer back online did it start
printing massive test pages? I have the same printer and just
reinstalled my printer, because it kept telling me no communication
between my Windows Vista 64 bit and V305 printer. I also have gone thru
massive ink over this issue. It keeps telling me that the tape is still
on them, which is nto the case. I want to disable the print a test
page but have not figured out how to any ideas?
