You do know this is NOT a manufacturers associated site? This is a
public newsgroup, akin to a bulletin board in a grocery board where
anyone can pin up something. At least here though we can talk about it
but we're just a bunch of good ole' boys/girls goofing around on the
internet.

Keith is not referring to this newsgroup "alt.comp.os.windows-10".

Keith is referring to the Thunderbird newsgroup "mozilla.support.thunderbird"
on the Mozilla's news server "news.mozilla.org". By the "manufacturer",
Keith means Mozilla.

I would not call "Mozilla" a manufacturer... I understand a person
coming from Windows environment making that error, but it is also a
community.

Sometimes I have been in a similar situation for not knowing the chap

In this case
1. It says "moderator" at the bottom of that chap's post;
2. If one is not sure if that is true, one can check the list

Manufacturer = a producer of goods.

Precisely and:
Goods are materials that satisfy human wants and provide utility, for
example, to a consumer making a purchase of a satisfying product. A
common distinction is made between goods that are tangible property, and
services, which are non-physical.

Mozilla's products are non-physical services. It is not a manufacturer.

In my case it was not that place, and not all moderators said so in the
signature. I have my proper excuses, he doesn't ;-)

Your proper excuse is that you have limited intelligence and you are
using a junk. Windows users don't have this proper excuse!!
