Default Error 1320

Hi

I run XP pro on a laptop. I am trying to install Money2004 and I get:

Error 1320: The specified path is too long: N:\My Settings

(N is a local disc)

Previously I installed money 2004 with no problems. I have searched the data
base and found this:

"Reinstall Microsoft Office Personal Portfolio. Use an installation location
that is shorter than 150 characters. You can also accept the default
location that Windows Installer provides."

When I try the customized installation I am given a path "C:\ program
files\microsoft Money\ I can find no reference to Personal Portfolio
anywhere in the money CD, or in my files.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Where did you get the definition for this error code? The one I have specifies.
Either the specified user account is already a member of the specified group, or the specified group cannot be deleted because it contains a member.
This is what my error definitions define error 1320 as. }:~)

Hello,

We are having the same problem, but with MS Office XP. It has worked before and does still work on other pcs with identical configurations. We tried repairing, reinstalling and removing it, but we keep on getting error messages.

I've been searching for a little while now and I have found several people with a comparable problem, but so far I did not find any solutions.

All ideas are welcome.

Thx in advance,

Geert

Geert,

Do you have any mapped drives?
Are you using the DOS Command subst to substitute a folder for a drive
letter.?

The error 1320 normally occurrs when using the DOS Subst command. This
happens because the Windows Installer technology doesn't understand the DOS
subst command.
