Can I get rid of the pop-up details box in file listings?
In Windows Explorer and other situations where directories and files are
displayed, I find it most convenient to have the File View set to "list". When the cursor is rested on any individual filename, a pop-up box appears giving the file type, size, date last modified and similar. Is it possible to turn this feature off? Many thanks, Bert |

Many thanks, Bert Once Windows Explorer starts (I assume that happens when one clicks 'Computer' and accesses the C drive, but if it isn't, open Windows Explorer from the accessories menu) and then a folder, one of the items on the menu bar is 'Tools'. Click that and look though the settings - one of them is a check box to enable/disable tooltips on folders and files.. Incidentally, if you keep the tooltips, you can also decide which info items you want them to show. |
