Ronnie,

I agree their seems to be a lot of information. No dispute... but
for some of the hardware devices (like my USB ports) the profiler
info just echoed what was in the properties of Device Manager and/or
what is in the "computer information" within the Help and Support on
the local machine. At least in my case I really did not get 'more'
detailed info by running the Profiler.
I know this really does not help. I understand Michael Y's
frustration. I still would like to know how LVTravel was able to get
more info on Michael's 4400 than Michael could, with his service tag.

It could be that despite the apparent new "scan" of the system while using
the profiler, it still bases the results on what was installed when the
system was first sold?

There are quiet a few apps out there that give you a humongous amount of
information on a system. Aida32, which has a free version, is a good one
that I have used.

The information in the profiler is not any more specific than can be
found in the "computer information" within the Help and Support on
the local machine. The information is what is available from Device
Manager. The only other document would be your order or the online
order... if the product description differs from what has been stored
in the device.

I sure would like to know how LVTravel was able to find out so much
about the 4400. I have an 8200. I can find nothing that tells me
specifically what I have. I'll see what happens when I post the
question on the Dell Forum.

I got a 5 page printout including the USB version when I used my Service Tag
number in the profiler. This is on a 4 year old Dell that I use for beta
testing operating systems and it no longer has any Dell specific software.

Thanks for all of the input. I went to execute the profiler and this is
what I got:

" We're sorry. The operating system or browser you are using is not
supported at this time. We may support your platform in future releases
based on demand. "

I just tried Aida32 and it gives more information than you ever wanted
to know. But there is something about it which still leaves some doubt
in my mind. Net, net, the results lead me to believe that my USB is 1.1
on the desktop. I have not yet run the program on my laptop.
