Hi

Some direct download links to Java VM (build 3809)

for WinXP, Win9x and NT4:
http://secinfo.huji.ac.il/patches/Win-xp/msjavwu.exe
http://www.biologylab.awlonline.com/...53/msjavwu.exe

for Win2000:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/ms...74AC9D CD.exe

http://www.biologylab.awlonline.com/...810030_W2K.exe

and a tip from Michel Gallant (MVP Security):

Anyone downloading these VM installers should make sure that they
are authentic versions, as originally distributed by Microsoft.
I am not questioning the integrity of the files on these sites, but only
making a suggestion about due-diligence security wise.

You should verify the digital signature on these files:
Right Click | Properties | Digital Signatures ..

--- WinXP and Win9x (msjavwu.exe): ----------
File Version 5.0.3809.0
Signer: Microsoft Corporation
Hash (SHA-1 Thumbprint):
282D 9806 C3DF 7345 929F 64F5 895E F2EA 4AC2 9302

--- Win2000 (Q810030_W2K.exe): -----------
File Version 5.3.10.0
Signer: Microsoft Windows 2000 Publisher
Hash (SHA-1 Thumbprint):
B42E 4175 6327 473A 45C1 8077 CF2B B314 51E4 D1C3

Here is a link to the current Microsoft Virtual Machine, build 3810.

http://jmrubin.home.netcom.com/msjvm.htm

This just redirects to the Microsoft download URL which is too long.

This link won't work after a week or so, maybe less.

Microsoft has legal problems and can only give you a new JVM if you
have an old one. I updated to the new one last night and turned on a
packet sniffer so I got the URL.

If you prefer you can get the Sun JVM for http://java.sun.com

Sun invented Java. Some websites which were built with Microsoft
Visual J++ might work a little bit differently but any webmaster who
depends on your having the Microsoft JVM rather than the Sun is a
fool. The Microsoft JVM is going to gradually go away.
