"fdc.sys is corrupted"
Hello,
I'm running XP HE and I just bought XP Pro to upgrade. When the computer restarts to begin setup, it reaches a problem and says "fdc.sys is corrupt" and setup fails. I've learned that fdc.sys is the floppy disk controller driver and is located in c:\windows\system32\drivers. Any help as to correct this problem so I can upgrade to XP Pro? Thanks, Rudiger

Bring the CD back to the store for a replacement! It's defective.

So this is a problem with the XP Pro CD and not my XP

Try to boot from the CD and install, instead of installing from Windows.. It
