Accidentally changed domain to a workgroup...
....and now I can't login!
I wanted to change the computername, but the domain I was in wasn't letting me. So, stupidly, I switched it over to a workgroup, a random workgroup I made up, "blahblah" . But when I restarted, now there's obviously no "domain" box on the login screen. And now, I can't login with my normal login/pass (i'm an administrator, too..) ... And I'm unsure of what other login/pass would work. Anyone have any suggestions how I can get back into the OS so I can change it back to domain? Thanks. |

Hi Log on with the local Administrator account and add the computer back to the domain. If the Administrator's password is not blank, and you don't know what it is: How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password or Your Password Expires http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;321305 If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator password with one of the methods mentioned he http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm#password -- torgeir Microsoft MVP Scripting and WMI, Porsgrunn Norway Administration scripting examples and an ONLINE version of the 1328 page Scripting Guide: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter |
