Default Operating system CD's now longer shipped with new computers

Thanks for all the responses. It's refreshing to have
responses like this.
Thanks.

As I'm looking around at my recovery "floppy" (no
recovery CD that I can find).

It goes something like this:

This must be done with a call to service while doing this
function.

Unhide recovery Partition
Delete Primary Partition
Re-Create Primary Partition
Re-Initialize Master Boot Record
Set Partition 1 Active.

Looks like all data is lost here :)
The rest of the bat files look even scarier.

I believe this is what Microsoft calls embedded OS.

I have already tried to image to a new disk with Western
Digital software and it always bombs out with something
like "can't find source headers" and stops around half
way through the copy.
I'll try some of the other suggestions noted above.

Again many thanks,
Have a very happy Holiday Season.
