Default Modem detection

If my modem is not turned on when I boot up with XP Pro,
it doesn't find it. This has only been the case recently.
Can anyone help.

Hi Sue:

That's normal behavior for XP. Even though the modem may not be
detected if turned off, it will probably still show up in Hardware
Devices. Just leave it turned on.
