Default Network Icon Missing in View Network Connections In Win XP Home

Create a new connection!

-----Original Message-----
When I go into "My Network Places" and click "View
Network Connections" the icon for my network is missing.
The only network connection that I have is to my SBC DSL
(An internet connection that requires a username and
password) so it isn't a complicated network or any
thing. I can still connect since I had the wizard add a
shortcut to the desktop for the connection so I do have
that icon. I found out that there is a similar problem
for windows 2000. I applied the fix for windows 2000 but
since I have XP Home it didn't work. I have also tried
removing and reinstalling my network card drivers and
that didn't work. Of course, my support options with
microsoft have expired (already used my two free ones)
and I have found a few different forums where people have
had the same problems. No one was able to offer a
solution that worked. Someone please help.... Greatly
appreciated.
Nate
