Can't correct Network problem
I have traced several of these problems to improperly configured winsock
LSPs. Run "winmsd" and go to Components/Network/Protocol. Look at the names in the list, anything with "MSAFD" in it or the "RSVP xxx Service Provider" should be fine. Anything else is suspect, and uninstalling the owning program might help. -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. "jim Street" wrote in message ... Using Windows xp I am receiving the following error: "Operation was attempted on something that is not a socket" This error appears when I try to renew my IP connection with my cable dsl isp provider. There is a fix posted on the MS Knowledge base - KB318584 however this fix is for Windows 2000. Using this fix I can not uninstall the TCP/IP stacks hence I am stuck. Is there a fix for this error for XP users? |
