Default New Wireless Network doesn't work

I have a new Linksys Router w/ direst wire to my
Desktop. I have a wireless cardbus in my Laptop.
the Laptop (Win 98) gets the High Speed Internet and has
the Network Neightborhood showing the Enitre Network and
itself (with its shared folders), but nothing about my
Desktop.
My desktop (XP) even though I've used the Wizard, has no
indication of the other machine. My workgroup is the
same. I don't see any "Log on" place to go to....etc.

Any suggestions?
