Default Unwanted Pop-Ups

How do I keep others from posting pop-ups on my XP
machine. I am always connected to the internet and I am
running Norton Fire Wall.

The suggestion to shut down the messenger service will
stop the pop-ups, but is only addressing the symptoms,
not the cause.

The cause is that you are exposing open ports to the
Internet that you should't.

You need to review the firewall's configuration.
This traffic ought not be getting in through the firewall.
