Default Automatic dialup on system startup won't work

Hi,

I'm trying to configure my system in a way that when
windows (xp) starts, my dialer will dial and connect to
the network automatically (i use ADSL if it matters..)
So, I enabled autodial and don't get the prompt for user
name /password when double clicking on my dialer shortcut
(that's good).
After that, I've placed the dialer's shortcut icon in my
startup
menu, rebooted and.. Nothing happens. I don't even get a
prompt for user name. It's like the shortcut isn't there.
So, i know... I can paste a shortcut of some webpage in
the startup menu and when rebooting - internet explorer
would show up as well as my network connection.
But im looking for a way to only dial the network when my
system boots (without opening msn/icq/ie etc.) - just a
clean network connection.

can anyone help?

thanks in advance,
Catch.
