xp home unable to connect to internet via hub
Did you try IPCONFIG?
That will tell you if XP home grabbed a new IP address. I've had no problem with any of my XP machines browsing through my ROUTER to the NET. Email me if you have additional questions, I may be able to help. &tan -----Original Message----- xp home computer is unable to connect to internet or able to see or be seen by other computers when it is connected thru a hub which in turn is connected to a router to adsl modem. When xp home is connected directly to router, everything is fine- all computers can see each other & get on the internet. ip address on xp home system defaults to some ip address & subnet mask when connected to the hub. Please help me. thx. the lights are green both on xp home & on the hub. but no activitity. when connected thru a router, it gets the correct dhcp address & subnet mask assigned by the router. Other systems on the network have win 98, 98se, xp pro, win2k server. it is peer-peer; no dns involved; dhcp automatically assigns ip address. . |
