connected thru the hub, i have the problem. any more

Uninstall any firewalls which may be running.

xp home computer is unable to connect to internet or

able
to see or be seen by other computers when it is

connected
thru a hub which in turn is connected to a router to

adsl
modem.
When xp home is connected directly to router,

everything
is fine- all computers can see each other & get on the
internet.
ip address on xp home system defaults to some ip

address
& subnet mask when connected to the hub. Please help

me.
thx. the lights are green both on xp home & on the hub.
but no activitity. when connected thru a router, it

gets
the correct dhcp address & subnet mask assigned by the
router.
Other systems on the network have win 98, 98se, xp pro,
win2k server. it is peer-peer; no dns involved; dhcp
automatically assigns ip address.
