Thanks Doug. It was my fault for not knowing about the lack of a PWS with XP
Home. On the other hand you would expect an "upgrade" to add features, not
subtract them. So it is a bit of a trap. Must have been many thousands of
people who got caught like me, and now have to pay the price. I just checked
the microsoft site, and see no indication that there is a rebate on XP Pro
upgrade for Home users. -- Sam

The cheapest source of XP Pro is the upgrade. There may be rebates

available
for people upgrading from XP Home.

Rececent posts suggested using xitami or apache to provide PWS

capability.
Do they support FrontPage 2002 extensions?

I have XP Home. If I upgrade to XP Pro, is there a Microsoft package

that
can do this that is cheaper than the XP Pro upgrade (which does a more

major
upgrade from OS's win98, win ME, etc.) ? Cheapest source for XP Pro

upgrade?

Many thanks -- Sam

I understand, Sam. Whether or not they're offering the rebate varies.
Sometimes its there, sometimes its not.
