When i right click on a photo or a file and chose to send

Greetings
Most likely you are using a compressed graphics format like JPEG that has already been compressed. Once its compressed you cant keep making it samller in size. The only thing you can be is resize the image to make it smaller in size. "Marco" wrote in message ... I hit reply too soon. I was going to finish up by saying you will need to
resize the photo or save it with a lower quality setting if it is too large to send. "Marco" wrote in message ... When i right click on a photo or a file and chose to send to compressed(zipped) file, it zips it to the same size! How can I compress it to a smaller size? Thanks |

Certain file formats such as jpeg images are already compressed, so adding
them to a zip file is not going to make them much smaller, if any. "Marco" wrote in message ... When i right click on a photo or a file and chose to send to compressed(zipped) file, it zips it to the same size! How can I compress it to a smaller size? Thanks |

SOme file formats (for example .jpg) are already compressed. Trying to compress an already-compressed file doesn't accomplish anything; sometimes it even makes it a little larger, due to the extra overhead of compression. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |
