tasks unexpectedly close down
After the fault described below I formatted my hard drive
then re-installed Win XP Home. Then Mcffee Virus scan 7.0. Then Speedtouch ADSL drivers for broadband connection. Nothing else. Problem. Now when using my PC, the McAfee icon on the taskbar will disappear usually after I connect to the internet. (But not always), once this effect is observed Regedit will not stay open for more than a few seconds before simply disappearing as if I had closed it down. This is not an exhastive list of symptoms. I first started to see this happen when I re-connected another PC on a home network. I had downloaded all of the relevant updates from McAfee but found no viruses. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as how to go about tracking this down. Many thanks. |

Well you do have a virus. It's stopping McAfee and regedit.
