Default Printer detection and XP SP 2?

I have an HP OfficeJet G55, and just recently installed
Service Pack 2, now when I power down my printer while in
Windows and then turn it back on, its not detected by
Windows again until next reboot.. in other words it wont
print anymore (auto fails) I even try adding and deleting
it, but even the plug n play wont detect it until I
reboot! Is this an issue with all plug and play devices
or what? I need some help here.. suggestions or
workarounds? thx!! I have all the lastest drivers and
everything

I have an HP PSC 500, and just recently installed SP2, now when I power cycle
my printer, Windows will not recognize it until reboot. Same problem! Never
did this before.
