Default Installation Problem

Problem Description: During installation of HP Deskjet F2210, I receive an
error message that USBstor.inf Version 5.1.2600.0 is the wrong version and is
needed to continue installation. I contacted HP tech support and they said I
needed to contact Microsoft to resolve this problem. Thank you for your
assistance.

First, this newsgroup isn't "Microsoft." The people who post here are
just users of varying degrees of knowledge.

Second, AFAIK, version 5.1.2600.0 is the only version of usbstor.inf.
Perhaps you haven't posted the complete error message. If the message
included "required section not found in the inf" see the following:
http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/5...bstor-inf.html

Alternatively, expand usbstor.in_ from C:\i386 or your Windows install
CD and place the expanded file in %WINDIR%\inf (or download a copy of
usbstor.inf from www.infdump.com or www.dll-download-system.com or similar)

How to expand files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888017
