Default Problem deleting printer

Hello,

XP will not let me delete one of the Auto created HP
network printers. The properties cannot be displayed, and
it keeps warning the the print spooler service is not
started. I verified that it was started (even restarted
it) and got the same errors. When I tried to delete it,
it would physically remove itself from the screen, but
would come back moments later. Any ideas?

Besides stopping the print spooler on the local PC, you need to either
change permissions on the network printer that the local PC is finding or in
Windows Explorer, from the Toolbar, select Tools, Folder Options.... and in
the View options, UNCHECK the box for Automatically search for network
folders and printers. If this box is checked, all XP will do is
automatically reinstall it everytime.
