Default pixel shaders v1.1

Hi there,

I am trying to install Lego Star Wars onto a machine and it comes up with an
error message saying can't play the game due to not having Pixel Shaders
v.1.1 in it.

Does the Pixel Shaders come with the Direct X? I have Direct X 9 in the
machine. Or does Pixel Shaders come with the video card itself?

Thanks,

Gordon

Both. The Pixel shader is a hardware acceleration feature and needs tobe
supported by your graphics card. Furthermore you need the latest drivers and
DirectX runtime too.

Hi Rehan,

I have a GeForce 4 Nvidia graphics card 128 mb memory....

Shouldn't it be working with that graphics card?

Thanks,

Gordon

The GeForce4 does not have hardware pixel shader support.

You'll need to get a more modern video card.

Dude, had problems myself. It can be solved with emulation.

Pixel Shader is a hardware component inside the video card. If you have an
older integrated video card such as the Intel 915, 935 or VIA S3 then your
hardware is not capable of playing this game.

First thing to try is to update your video driver. From the run box type
"dxdiag" to see what your video card is and visit the manufacturer web
site.

If your video card is not compatible and you have a desktop PC, then you
may be able to buy and install a replacement video card upgrade for about
$100-$200. You need to know whether your PC has a AGP or PCIe expansion
slot. If you have a laptop then there is no upgrade available.
