Default font size
Hi!
The default font size in WordPad is 10 How do I change it? Opening a doc. and changing size is OK, but save and re-open and it's back to 10! (Windows XP Home) g4egg, who remembers "PRESS PLAY ON TAPE #1" |

Hi!
Yes it did indeed help. First, it said that I couldn't do what I wanted. Second, the suggested workaround didn't work, but I will try it again. (May have made typing error!) Third, it made me try Notepad, which does let me change default size, and achieve my goal! So, many thanks. Here is another way.
1. Open Wordpad. 2. Type a space. 3. Select that space and apply Font type and size. And whatever other formatting you may want. 4. Click File, Save As and save as WpadTmpl.wri. 5. Close Wordpad. 6. Locate WpadTmpl.wri, right click it, select Properties, on the General tab click the Read-only box and click OK. 7. Open WpadTmpl.wri, Save As whatever and type whatever. 8. Use WpadTmpl.wri to open Wordpad whenever you want it to default to whatever settings. Setting WpadTmpl.wri to Read-only means that it cannot be changed or accidentally deleted. So that you do not forget to Save As when you open WpadTmpl.wri and start typing a bunch and mess up your Wordpad "template". -- Hope this helps. Let us know.
