Default Windows Explorer Crashes

About once daily, when I try to do a file name search in Windows
Explorer, it crashes by erasing the screen, followed by a return to
the desktop. Since it keeps happening, I want to ask if anyone else
has had this problem.

Thank you

Yessir

You may like to try "Everywhere":
http://www.voidtools.com/
It's freeware and works *great* for me.

Also it allowed me to disable services like Windows Search and Indexing,
which were randomly wasting so much RAM and CPU time.

I see 19 errors in last 24 hours. I'll wait untie the next crash and
look at it again and get back to you I think

Explorer.exe and ntdll.dll are both Windows files so there's not much
to go on there. Have a look at the reliability graph and see if the
crashes started after you installed something, especially antivirus software.
Reliability History Graph:
Control Panel
System and Security
Action Center
Maintenance drop down menu View Reliability history.
Select to view by Days and click on an item to view details.

What's the point of that link ?
Quote "Error Message Occurs When File is Right-Clicked, or Problems Occur
When Opening Certain Files in Autodesk or Discreet Products"

And it's for XP/2000, whereas the OP's problem is Explorer/Search function in Windows 7.

My bad. I forgot what group I was in when I posted it. Thank you for
pointing it out.
