Epson Stylus Photo 960 & Windows XP
I have an epson stylus photo 960 and am running windows xp
home edition. I can't install the printer driver. Epson says its an xp problem because when I click on printers & faxes/add a printer, I get the error "operation could not be completed." I had an epson awhile ago, but I gave it away. In any case, it's no longer visible in the printers & faxes window, although I don't remember uninstalling it. This is what happens: (1) I turn on the computer. (2) the bubble pops up "found new hardwa epson stylus 960" (3) when I try to install the printer driver from epson, approved for windows xp, I get the error "the rpc server is unavailable." Everytime I try to fix this, I uninstall the files for the printer driver that are able to be installed before the "rpc server" error pops up. What can I do? This is very frustrating. I've seen that people have had similar problems with HP printers, but none of the fixes I've seen so far on the web have helped me. |

Hello
It's not MS problem, Epson needs to provide you with the correct drivers for it Alvin hopewhit wrote: I have an epson stylus photo 960 and am running windows xp home edition. Ok. But what do you make of the fact that immediately
after pressing opening "printers & faxes" in the control panel, and then clicking "add a printer" I get the error "operation could not be completed." I can't add any printer at this point, much less the new one I got. -----Original Message----- Hello It's not MS problem, Epson needs to provide you with the correct drivers for it Alvin hopewhit wrote: I have an epson stylus photo 960 and am running windows xp home edition. Hello Hope
Remove all epson drivers that you installed from that cdrom, then just go in and try to add a printer ok, at that point can you tell me what it says in your next reply Alvin 866-266-9376 ext:2075 hope wrote: Ok. Okay, I will do this when I get home tonight. However, i
believe I did this (deleted all drivers) on the phone with the Epson guy and still got the same error message when attempting to add a printer. I will do it again tonight, though to make sure. -----Original Message----- Hello Hope Remove all epson drivers that you installed from that cdrom, then just go in and try to add a printer ok, at that point can you tell me what it says in your next reply Alvin 866-266-9376 ext:2075 hope wrote: Ok. yes, all drivers are uninstalled....I checked under
add/remove programs. When I try to check under printers and faxes/file/server properties for the drivers, I get an error message that says the "server properties cannot be viewed. The printer spooler service is not running." Of course, I've already checked to see that it is running in admin tools. -----Original Message----- Hello Hope Remove all epson drivers that you installed from that cdrom, then just go in and try to add a printer ok, at that point can you tell me what it says in your next reply Alvin 866-266-9376 ext:2075 hope wrote: Ok.
