Default Windows Messenger Live Sign In problem

I have the same problem too. I tried all ways, upgraded msn messenger 7.0 to
current Msn messenger 8.0. Uninstall, re-install. Tried logging in from
various PCs. I can't login using webmessenger either. The odd thing is I'm
able to with other msn messenger accounts, but not this account ! Its
frustrating! Please advise..

account but without any luck. It doesn't show me any errors but can keep
signing in for hours and even days (icon is still moving and applicaiton
responding).

The Strange part is that I can log into WebMessenger, my Hotmail account
with the same user/pass and at least 2 other accounts on my Messenger.
But my account just won't work!

Tried to Rapair, Reinstall, Rename the folder "%appdata%\Microsoft\MSN
Messenger" but nothing helps.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Same issue here...same error codes...can't sign on...tried Johnathan's
download...no change...run the self help test...it checks off all systems
good yet shows "no connection" at top of test page under "connections". My
login screen DID change colours, back to original default after your reg
download.

I can confim the same bug on my messenger with "this" account im using here.
I cannot login (tried from 2 computers), i simply get either "the service is
currently not availiable", or errno "81000306".

I also try logging in with Gaim and it crashes! when it recices the cookie,
so it`s a bit frustrating.

Other persons have also confirmed this "bug" in Norway.

A mail is dispatched to MS Support but i guess it can take time to get
response.

Hi,
I have the same problem everyone is describing; two little messenger icons
that just keep spinning but no sign in. I can sign in with my personal
account on my notebook with no trouble at all but not my work account. I've
downloaded the file as suggested by Jonathan Kay [MVP] but it hasn't fixed
the problem...it is driving me CRAZY!!!

"Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote:

Greetings Alex,

To fix this problem, shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on its icon in the
notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...grsettings.reg

Then try signing in again.

Same problem here.

The built-in Windows messenger of WinXP connects OK.
Windows live messenger 8.0.0812.00 gets stuck.
Turning off firewall and antivirus does not help.

The problem started several days ago.

Default Windows Messenger Live Sign In problem

I am having trouble logging into Windows Live Messenger version 8.0. To
start off, when I begin typing in my e-mail address it takes a while for the
letters to appear. Then, once I hit the sign in botton it gives me this:
"Signing into Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is
temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Error Code: 800401f3"
Please give me advice as to what I can do to get my Windows Live Messenger
working once again. Thanks a lot!! I really appreciate your help on this!!

-Olga

P.S. I have tried writing the reg commands into the Command Prompt as well
as other things that have been suggested in forums, but with no luck. I even
uninstalled and installed Messenger, but this didn't help me out.

Default Windows Messenger Live Sign In problem

I have the same problem. Started playign up 2 days ago, then yesterday won't
sign-in at all. Have tried all the fixes suggested here so far. I can logon
to webmessenger.
My troubleshoot tells me the hosts file is the trouble, but clicking repair
does not help the problem. It just keeps saying the hosts file is the issue.

Any suggestions please?

Patty
