One internet connection only
Hello,
I need help with the number of internet connection in Windows XP Home. It seems that I can only have one active connection at a time. I connect to the Internet via DSL with D-Link router acts as the gateway. Whenever I am downloading a file from the Web, I cannot open another Internet session, i.e., browse to another website, IE said that "cannot connect", and FireFox said "Connection refused". Once the download completed then I can browse to other website. My system has all the patches applied for the OS. Thanks for any of your help. |

Sounds like communication is only one-way at a time, simplex. Check the NIC properties in Device Manager and see what kind of communication is set. If the problem persists, the DSL ISP should have some clue. Also, what happens if the computer is connected directly to the modem? Perhaps rebooting the modem will help. Q |
