Default Norton Firewall Protection

Need some help - I am getting ready to upgrade my Norton
Antivirus program to include Norton Firewall Protection.
I am running Windows XP - Do I need to disable the
Firewall that came with XP before downloading the Norton
Firewall Protection? If Yes how do I disable the XP
firewall. Thank you, Nickie

To disable the XP built-in firewall, open Control Panel, and make sure
it is set to show the classic view ("Switch to Classic View" in the Task
Panel on the left at the top), then click on "Network Connections" and
find your network connection. Right-click on it, and choose
"Properties", then click on the "Advanced" tab, and deselect "Protect my
computer and network...", then "OK" out...It doesn't matter whether your
connection is active at the moment or not. To turn the XP firewall
protection back on, simply select "Protect my..." and "OK" out..

If you want, you can leave the XP built-in firewall activated until
after you have Norton Firewall Protection installed and configured. It
won't affect Norton Firewall. Personally, when I first install XP, one
of the first tasks I perform is to enable the built-in firewall, until I
can get around to installing Norton Internet Security, so that my
connection will be protected (I have a high-profile Cable connection
which is activated when I start my computer, and the sooner I can get it
protected, the better I feel.)
