Default cannot access folder security settings

I have file sharing set up on my xp pro laptop. However for reasons unknown
I now have no access to where the folder and file access settings. Any help
would be appreciated. I have scanned the system with WOC, Symantec, MS
spyware and Spybot S&D in normal mode and with mcafee, KAV and Spybot from
safe mode command prompt and turned up nothing.

Default cannot access folder security settings

Your post is quite unhelpful.
Please ,tell what happened?

While expalining to us ,try System Restore in Windows XP

Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore

and restore your system to a state at least 3 days before the problem started.

This could fix the problems.

I would need to go back about 3 weeks, What I am trying to do is change who
can access folders and drives as well as the read/write/change permissions.
The security tab is missing from the folder properties and/or the security
and sharing tap.

Default cannot access folder security settings

Go to windows explorer, Tools menu, choose Folder Options, click the view
tab, at the bottom uncheck USE SIMPLE FILE SHARING.
You should have your security option back.
