Default cpu upgrade

I am just about to upgrade my cpu from amd athlon 1.33 to
a athlon xp 2400 and i have heard that i will need to re
install my xp pro otherwise the sse function of the new
cpu will not work,If this is the case whats the best way
to re install xp pro and will i lose any files etc.
any ideas thanx

Default cpu upgrade

Replacement of just the CPU should not necessite a Repair Installation. If
you are changing the CPU AND the motherboard, yes you will need to do a
Repair Installation.
