Clearing login names
XP caches login names that have ever been used to login to network shares or
..NET Passport service. It doesn't seem to store the list of cached logins in the system registry because I ran a registry search using one of the logins and couldn't find a match. I need to clear the list of cached logins on my computer. Any ideas how I can do this? Thank you... T. |

Clearing login names
Greetings Tim,
You can remove Passports in the sign in list by clicking the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, you can remove accounts by clicking the passport you wish to delete [denoted by (Passport)], and then click the 'Remove' button. For more detailed instructions and screenshots on this procedure, see he http://messenger.jonathankay.com/problem.aspx?ID=2 ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Tim" wrote in message ... Clearing login names
I have the same problem that I would like to clear the
user names used to logon to the messenger before. However the user name I would like to clear is not in the user accounts list in the Control Panel. Is there another way to clear email addresses used to log on to the messenger before? Thanks in advance. Hi Jeanette,
When you go into the User Accounts click on your Windows XP Account Name, then choose 'Manage my Network Passwords' (as below), it will be there. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "jeanette harris" wrote in message ...
