New XP Installation on new hard drive - will not read from CD

My PC crashed. I've installed a new Maxtor 40gb hard
drive. It boots to the C: drive and both CD drives are
both available, but XP CD will not install from CD drive.

have you fdisked your new drive? if not you need to
