Hi All,

Does Son-of-Frankenstein (w10) suspend instead of shutdown,
like Frankenstein does (w8)?

If so, how do I tell Son-of-Frankenstein that off means off?

Many thanks,
-T

How long are you going to keep up this Frankenstein thing?

I just ignore that and the ever-present M$. If it makes the OPs feel better
about it, I guess I can overlook it :-)

I usually read Todd's posts, but as soon as I see that or M$ (in other
people's posts too) I just skip to the next post. I'm just not
interested in rants (even this reply of mine, if it qualifies as a
rant).

I also ignore his posts, Don't need that kind of drivel

Best regards, Rene

It does, and you can turn it off the same way as in Win8/8.1.

Go to Control Panel . . . Power Options. Click on "Choose what the power
buttons do." Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
near the top of the page, then uncheck ""Turn on fast startup
(recommended)" under the Shutdown settings. Save Changes and that's it.

I have fast startup disabled on both my Win8.1 and Win10 setups
(separate HDD in the same machine) and see hardly any difference in
boot-up times as opposed to when it is enabled.

Hi SC Tom,

I copied it down this time. I remember I had a command line
to run on Frankenstein (w8), but it stopped working after
some other updates were applied.

Thank you for helping me with this.

Hi Big Al,

I will keep it up as long as it continues to perfectly describe
the problems associated with this iteration of Windows. M$
(that is a compliment to M$ by the way, means they are
successful) should have never tried to cram an iPad (tablet)
onto a desktop. A piece of this and a piece of that stitched
together: Frankenstein-esque

There is no intention to offend, just to be honest. Don't
let it bother you. Let it bother you if I am rude to
others or do not share information.
