cant connect to anything

i cant connect to things that needs to connect to another server, like games
that need to connect to a masterserver. i cant connect to update, i cant
connect to anything, but i can still access internet. i checked firewalls,
ports, and everything, i can format, but i will lose infomation i have on my
computer i cant reinstall. it gets annoying, i want to play my games, update
my porgrams, upgrade windows xp to service pack 2, but i cant! i tried
everything, the only option i have is to format, but like i siad before, i
dont want to lose infomation i cant reinstall

sounds like scumware or trojan/worms if you can't get
some scans or software to clean your pc. save your stuff
to cds and do a clean reinstall.
